International Director
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Yoni Avital is a professional singer, musician & leader of the music group The Shuk with whom he regularly performs at theaters and festivals worldwide.
Yoni oversees and manages KCDC’s international operations including the main company’s performances and tours across the globe, international public relations and marketing, social media, website management, promotion of KCDC’s international 5-month and 10-month Dance Journey program, and its Summer Intensive.
Earned a B.A. in Clinical Psychology & Music from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and an MBA at Haifa University’s International Executive MBA program.
Was first introduced to the fantastic world of contemporary dance by his wife Dorry Aben, a former KCDC dancer and current dance teacher, freelance dancer, and movement therapist.
His belief in using the immense power and medium of dance, music, and the performing arts to bring people of all backgrounds together, is the driving force behind his work both as an artist and as a manager of such a celebrated and internationally-renowned dance company.
