Rehearsal Director
A choreographer, dancer, and audiovisual artist of French-Israeli origin, born in France in 1994. She received her dance education at the Princess Grace Academy of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, graduating in 2013. She studied art history within the study program of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City.
She moved to Israel in 2013, driven by a desire to explore movement in its rawest and most authentic forms. Since 2016, Lea has become a full-fledged member of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC). She has performed in some of artistic director Rami Be’er’s renowned productions such as ‘If At All’, ‘Horses In The Sky’, ‘Mother’s Milk’, ‘Asylum’, ‘A Good Citizen’, ‘TA_ATUA’, and ‘The Director’s Cut’.
Lea wears multiple hats within Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, serving as the main company’s Rehearsal Director, as a ballet teacher for both companies, and as a creative force behind the company’s visual content and marketing endeavors.
Her singularity for choreography sets her apart, having created acclaimed works like ‘Who Am I’ for KCDC 2 in 2022, which has been touring since.
She was invited in 2023 to perform her work ‘Salamandra’ at the Smilansky Festival and in 2024 she presented her new piece ‘Good Man Bad Man’ at The Jerusalem International Solo Dance Festival (JISDF).
In recent years, Lea has been leading the artistic management of INSIDERS Creative Lab – a project of personal works by company dancers, which was presented for the first time in an online version during Covid Lockdown. In 2023, the project was presented on stage in the company’s home theatre at the International Dance Village in Kibbutz Ga’aton, Israel.
In 2024, she created an original work ‘Šárka’ for 22 dancers for the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in the Czech Republic.
She collaborated in 2024 with the National Moravian-Silesian Theater and choreographed for the Opera The Brandenburgers in Bohemia directed by Jiří Nekvasil.
Lea has created original choreographies for the international Dance Journey program, hosted by KCDC, in the past years such as ‘Arch of Moods’ (2019), ‘What Is The Color Of The Wind’ (2020) and ‘Maktub’(2022).
Her innovative spirit extends to collaborations with visual art, creating dance films and dance installations. In 2021 and 2022, she collaborated with visual artist Roee Derstin to create the art installation OXYGEN, which was invited at the Alfred Art and Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv. In 2021, she choreographed a dance film ‘If You Meet the Buddha, Kill the Buddha’ which was part of the INSIDERS Creative Lab and was invited to the Jaffa Cinema, collaborating with the director Omer Ben-David. She was the co-producer and movement director for ‘ANCIENT FUTURE in Movement’, a one-hour clip in collaboration with musician DEKEL and director Ben Kirschenbaum. In 2023, Lea directed a dance film for 22 dancers in collaboration with renowned video artist François Vogel and created ‘The Arrival’ with the support of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.
