This is the best thing to do as a dance student during your summer break!
After four years that I attended Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company’s Summer Intensive program in Kibbutz Ga’aton, I can say that this is the best thing to do as a young dancer or dance student during your summer break!
During the program I was faced with new challenges such as learning new company repertoire and taking classes lead by different choreographers. Each summer, I met so many new friends from Israel and from around the world including China, the U.S., Switzerland, Ireland and more. Meeting with people of different cultures where everyone does what they truly love (in our case, dance) is fun and experiential. During this past summer’s course, I met with a group of Chinese participants. Most of them spoke little English so we didn’t have a way to communicate in such depth, but what was exceptional was that we were able to communicate through dance and through movement.
The location of the International Dance Village in Kibbutz Ga’aton (where the program takes place) is a great and familial atmosphere.
I highly recommend all young and aspiring dancers to enjoy and take part in this experience just like I have!
