I’m 17 years old and I participated twice in KCDC’s Summer Intensive. In the very beginning the summer dance program sounded a bit intimidating and I wasn’t so sure what to expect; to be away for a few weeks at a time from home together with other dancers and teachers that I did not know previously. Indeed, it took a few days to adjust, but once I arrived to KCDC’s International Dance Village in Kibbutz Ga’aton, Israel, it was simply an amazing and wild (in a good way) experience. The program allows you to feel as though you’re living the life of a professional dancer between the way the schedule is set up and the fact that you’re dancing all day in the Dance Village. It is challenging but at the same time, it’s incredibly rewarding.
The teachers are excellent and there’s so much to learn from them. The residential counselors are very friendly and kind and give each participant personal attention and care for everything we need. As someone who’s studying dance regularly at a dance academy regularly, I was at a point in my pre-professional path, where I was unsure whether I wanted to continue to dance. KCDC’s Summer Intensive gave me unbelievable motivation and reminded me why I wake up each and every morning to dance.
I highly recommend this dance program. You’ll meet and make amazing friends and work with great teachers.
Simply stated, it’s an amazing experience!
