I chose to travel to Israel to try something completely new, on the other side of the world.  At the Kibbutz Summer Intensive, I found exactly what I needed to enhance my skills and technique as a dancer without feeling judged or inadequate.  Israeli people were so welcoming and I felt right at home as soon as I landed in Tel Aviv.

My favorite memory of the dance village was witnessing some of the incredible performances by the company. They were truly awesome and inspiring; an amazing curation of artists.

Living communally with dancers from all over the world was an experience in itself. I learned all about the dance cultures from other countries, parts of new languages, and made lifelong friends who I plan to visit in years to come.

Throughout the course my daily routine began with breakfast, plenty of beautiful, healthy Israeli food, then a short break before the first class of the day. We attended four classes a day, each 90 minutes in length and it was…intensive! I loved it. At the end of the day, we often went for a dip in the pool to cool down, and take care of our hard-worked bodies.

I love to travel, so my favorite part of the summer in Israel was visiting a whole new country. I loved the weather, I loved learning about the people and culture, and the history and significance of religious sites in Israel.
